Flourish is a collection inspired by the organic inks Alison Mulvaney forages and produces herself from the garden and local bush, alongside earth-inspired watercolours, drawings, and a touch of hand embroidery.
“Botanicals have always been my muse. They can be intensely strong yet delicate in nature, wild, subdued or vibrant. They allow me to recreate feelings onto paper and canvas of both serenity and self-expression.
The fine art in this body of work is textural and organic, with many layers. It is founded upon a layer of Organic Inks (Eco-inks) that I handmake from botanicals foraged from my local environment. This allows a wonderful connection between the Wild Bush Inks that I make and my drawing and painting with watercolour paints. The Wild Bush inks that I create are as unique as my works or art.
My work is always finished with a touch of gold embroidery which is a nod to the history of the women in my family. who adored embroidering.”
